The Castle in Saint Macaire

On Monday a French lady drove us around the town.

"Have you seen the castle?" she asked, like it was nothing too exciting.  This was our first major freak out session.  We don't have many castle in America (except in Disney World).  So the next day we set out to explore.  Here are a few pictures from our outing...

Here is a picture of the interior of one of the parts of the castle.  We couldn't venture too far because we didn't have a flash light.  Unfortunately so many areas have been vandalized or destroyed.  Now it sits in quiet ruin.  

It's not every day that you get to just bask in the sun of a castle courtyard.
